The Flying Monk Band, are a Covers band based in

Malmesbury, South West England.

Flying Monk Band

We regularly play the Bristol/Bath/Wiltshire pub circuit, but are also available for private functions and festivals.

With a wide range of covers from Blues through the whole Rock genre, our choice of covers demonstrates the wide range of musical taste of the band members, and we are regularly adding to the list we choose from.  Our aim is to play music we enjoy playing, and that you enjoy listening, dancing, and singing along to! We have recently added a medley of Rock n Roll.

29th August 2009 - Malmesbury Party in the Park
By far the highlight of the year was playing Malmesbury's Party in the Park.  The event, headlined by Sandi Thom and Jon Allen, was held to raise funds for Malmesbury Carnival - an event the Monks are always pleased to support!

Dirty Work were great, Corky was - well - Corky (with the wonderful Corkettes), and The Goodness were amazing (keep your eye out for these boys!!).

A great experience, and one we hope to build on.  Many thanks to Chris (organiser), Anne (back stage), and the engineers (incredibly patient and helpful) - great job all round

8th May 2009 - Malmesbury Bowls Club
We were delighted to play for the Malmesbury Darts League presentation night. I have never seen so many  trophies and awards! We did our thing and we all had a good time. Andy had to walk home afterwards which was a bit of a trek (100 yards)!

9th May 2009 - HJ's Bike Show
Another good afternoon in the sunshine, with the CMA, for the bike show in Chipping Sodbury.  As always, a very good atmosphere amongst the bikers, and the Monks were well received at the event which aims to raise funds for the Freewheelers.

24th May 2009 - South Cerney FC
Fund raising event for South Cerney Football Cub. A great night with "this is england" and "Adrian Benn".  We gave the new PA a good blast and it was goooood! The band welcomed on stage our new friend Adrian all the way from the hustle and bussle of London. Admittedly he was only there because he has a fetish for duck racing, but did his own set including "the Vitalite song" then joined the Monks for a couple of songs.

ANOTHER GREAT NIGHT
